EARLY INTERVENTION, DETECTION AND REHABILITATION FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES (AGE GROUP 0-6 YRS)
- “All kids need is a little help, a little hope, and someone who believes in them,” and so does the differently abled children.
- Early Intervention is a special service that includes a range of healthcare, developmental, therapeutic, social, and cultural services for young children and their families.
- Children grow very rapidly in the early years and any stimulation at this stage helps to promote a child’s optimum growth and development.
- The significance of early intervention is that, by providing a stimulating environment, creating appropriate opportunities for learning and providing support to the families of young children who are at risk could be helped. The intervention is activity based, with the emphasis on learning through play.
- The Vithai Team largely concentrates in Treatment on Wheels where a moving therapy set up is provided for Physiotherapy and speech Therapy for children with disabilities.
- The Treatment on Wheels campaign is an awareness creating initiative for the society regarding disabilities and treatment through early intervention for the same.
