Shiksha Program :

One of the main focus of our program is the inclusion of our service users in mainstream schools, Anganwadis, and special schools. In this program, we track the number of Service Users who, after undergoing therapy with us, have moved out and moved to these schools. We keep track of their progress in these schools and advise the teachers and parents in times of need.

Shiksha Program Report Sheet

Asha (Handholding families of special children)

To give training sessions to parents of our users - to do the therapy sessions at home as a continuation of what is done at our PTOW van. Continuous counseling on handling the children with a positive mindset.

Impact Delivered (Quantitative)

857 Parents and Caregivers are trained on basic therapy and interventions at home.

  • 95% of parents feel more confident in handling their special children.
  • 80% of parents do therapy at home as well, as recommended and instructed by the physiotherapists

Qualitative Insights

500 teachers and 350 parents trained so far

  • Continuous counseling sessions have shown significant change in the parent's and caregivers' attitudes toward the exceptional child.
  • The parents have become hopeful that children can be sent to regular school if treatment is done periodically for an extended period.

Our Therapists go on home visits and teach parents the need for extended therapy at home. They also teach them basic therapy to be practised at home on a regular basis.
